Grilled Tomato Curry




There are several ways to prepare tomato chutney, and there is no standard procedure to follow. Different cook prepare it differently. Here, I have tried to give a different flavor to it. Basically, this was my hubby's idea to grill tomatoes before making the general tomato curry.







Preparation Time  :  10 mins
Cooking Time  :  30 mins
Servings  :  2







Ingredients:

Tomatoes                                  4
Onions1 (Sliced)
Green chilie2-3
Curry8-10 leaves
Saltas required
Red chilli powderas per taste
Curry powderas required
Asafoetida( Hing)1/2 tsp
Olive oil2 tbsp

Method : How to prepare
  1. Cut the tomatoes from the middle into two equal halves. Keep them upside down on the pan, put some olive oil and grill it on low flame.Grill it  for 15-20 mins approx till the bottom surface of the tomatoes turn little black.
  2. In a deep cooking pan, take olive oil and add hing, green chilies onions and salt. Saute till it turns to golden brown in color.
  3. After tomatoes are grilled, add them to cooking pan and mesh it completely.
  4. Add all the spices to the pan and little water(as per required).
  5. Cook it for 5-10 mins and serve hot.
You can try this curry with paratha or naan too. It will definitely add a lot of taste to this dish.
