Ghee Rice

Ghee Rice
As we all know rice is the staple food in South India. They generally cook rice in various forms by giving different twists/flavors to the rice. Normally, with rice we have recipes like Puloa, Veg Biryani or Fried rice. Here is one more variant of rice which is 'Ghee Rice'.


Preparation time : 20mins
Cooking time  : 10mins
Servings  : 3

Ingredients:(For 2-3 people)


Rice                             

1 cup(precooked)
Onions1(chopped)
Spring Onions2tbsp(chopped)
Cashew nutsa few
Curry Leavesas required
Green Chilies1(chopped)
Saltas required
Ajinomotoas required

Method :

  1. In a Pan, take ghee and saute cashew nuts in it for 1-2 mins.
  2. Now, saute chillies, curry leaves, onions and add ajinomoto and salt.
  3. Add the precooked rice to it, saute for 3-4mins..
  4. Now garnish this ghee rice with chopped coriander and spring onions.

Generally, I prepare a curry with this Ghee Rice. I use ginger, garlic, onions, green bell pepper, ajinomoto, salt, green chili sauce, vinegar and soya sauce, sauted in a pan. And add little water to it to form a thick curry.

This rice will give awesome combinations with Soup, Paneer chilly or any Chinese dish.
